The Canon EF 50mm STM is a versatile, compact, and advanced classic prime lens for full-frame EOS DSLRs as well as APS-C sized sensors where it provides an 80mm equivalent focal length. The lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.8 so you can shoot sharp images with shallow depth of field even in low-light. A 7-blade diaphragm makes out-of-focus image areas appear more natural and for excellent image quality with reduced glare, ghosting, and light interference, there are optimized lens coatings. The lens features an STM stepping motor for smooth, precise autofocusing and a manual focus mechanism allows you to manually fine-tune the focus at any time. Additionally, the focusing mechanism pairs well with EOS cameras featuring the Move Servo AF mode to enable continuous focusing performance when working in live view. With an enhanced exterior design, the lens offers a metal lens mount for durability and provides a compact 2.7 x 1.5” form factor thanks to the re-located focusing rings.
