Ask a Question

    4.8 x 4.3" and 10.8 oz

  • What do the numbers 8-24x25 mean? How does that compare to 10x42?

In binoculors, the first number stands for the number of times the image will be multiplied so in the case of 10X42, the image will be multiplied 10 times it's normal size. With 8-24, the binoculor can be adjusted to between 8-24 times the image's normal size. The second number means the diameter of the objective lens (the lens that observes the image, not the one that is closest to your eyes) in milimeters. The larger the objective lens, the more light will be allowed in and the lighter the object will appear.
