Nikon Announces New Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S Fast Prime Portrait Lens

Nikon unveiled its new NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S lens, which is expected to deliver a fast prime lens with a classic medium telephoto focal length to Z series full-frame mirror-less cameras

Designed with  wider, brighter and faster Z mount, the NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S is perfect for fashion, portraits, wedding/event photography and tight shot videos. If you needed more convincing to invest in this new product, Nikon's Executive President, Jay Vannatter, described the new lens as "sharp, yet the background blur is so natural" and that the capturing of detail is "nothing short of stunning."

The NIKKOR Z 85mm's fast f/1.8 maximum aperture lets users shoot in low light with all of the confidence for a gorgeous, visible shot. It has the capacity to capture high-dimensional images while also providing a uniqueness to high-resolution images and video footage.

On top of its powerful collaboration with cameras, this lens features a 9-blade rounded aperture, a minimum focusing distance of 2.62 feet and 67mm filter size. You won't have to worry about ghosting and flares creeping into your photos, as a Nano Crystal Coating responsible for minimizing both. The lens also features silent autofocus, minimal focus breathing, and customizable control ring for fine adjustment of exposure and aperture.

The new NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S will be out on the market in September 2019 at an SRP of $799.95*.
